  The management of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has released the departmental cut-off marks for the 2021/2022 academic session National Diploma (ND) full-time and B.Sc (Edu) programmes admission exercise.   The management of the University of Port Harcourt has announced the sudden postponement of the 33rd convocation earlier slated for April 2, 2022. The postponement was contained in a statement signed by the university spokesman, Sam Kpenu, through the Registrar, Dr Gloria's Chindah. No reason was given for the postponement and the university had yet to give a new date The statement reads, “The 33rd combined convocation ceremony for the award of diplomas, first degrees, postgraduate diplomas, higher degrees, honorary degrees and prize presentation earlier scheduled to hold on the 1st and 2nd of April, 2022, has been postponed by the Management of the University of Port Harcourt. “The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Georgewill regrets the inconveniences this new development may have caused the public, graduands, their parents, sponsors, the stakeholders and esteemed invited guests. “A new date will be communicated in due course.

  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Monday, explained that it would not extend the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, and Direct Entry, DE, registration because it was working on what it described as “tight schedule.” To this end, it insisted that the registration would come to an end on March 26, 2022 as earlier scheduled. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said the board would not extend the exercise because it was working on a tight schedule. Oloyede, who spoke at the Global Distance Learning Institute, Abuja, while monitoring the registration, said so far, between 1.5 million and 1.6 million candidates had been registered, noting that the closing days of the exercise were experiencing low turnout of candidates across the country.
