JAMB: Why some UTME results are withheld

  Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board has given reasons why some results of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination may not be released. The PUNCH had reported that JAMB released 2022 UTME results on Saturday. In an interview with The PUNCH on Monday, Head, Public Affairs and Protocol in JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, listed reasons that could lead to a candidate’s result being withheld. Among the reasons stated by Benjamin are malpractice, misconduct, breach of procedural processes, and incomplete review of centre. He also urged candidates to check their results properly. Benjamin said, “We have released results for this batch. There are many factors that can lead to a result being withheld. FG Moves to End ASUU, Poly Lecturers Strikes, Begins Arrears Payment

  The Federal Government has commenced the payment of minimum wage arrears, which it owed lecturers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and Academic Staff Union of Universities as part of efforts to end ongoing strikes by the unions, The PUNCH has learnt. The National President of ASUP, Dr. Anderson Ezeibe, and the Chairman, ASUU FUTMinna, Dr. Gbolahan Bolarin, confirmed this in separate interviews with our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday. The PUNCH reported that the two unions are currently on strike following the inability of the government to meet their demands including the payment of minimum wage arrears and release of revitalisation funds, among others.
