UNIVERSITY: DELSU ANNOUNCES IMMEDIATE RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

  This is to inform the University Community, particularty staff, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students that Senate of the Delta State University, at its 183° Regular Meeting, held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, deliberated extensively on the approved University’s Academic calendar and decided as follows: (1) that the University academic calendar would be followed strictly (2) that all undergraduate and postgraduate students are to return to campus immediately and commence lectures and  (3) that Faculties and Departments should ensure that academic activities commence fully. Consequently, all students are expected to return to campus and commence academic activities with immediate effects.

CONVOCATION: 201 Bag First Class Degrees At FUNAAB Convocation

  The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has produced 201 First Class graduates for the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic sessions. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kolawole Salako, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing on the institution’s combined convocation slated for March 28 and 29, 2022. Salako said 106 and 95 First Class candidates for the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic sessions were among the 5,898 graduates cleared for the convocation. He added that 2,412 out of the 5,898 graduates bagged Second Class Upper; 2,732 graduates made Second Class Lower; while 482 bagged Third Class; and 14 graduated with pass. The VC said “In the 2018 /2019 academic session, the university produced 3,202 graduands made up of 106 in the First Class Upper division; 1316 in Second Class Upper division; 1,429 in Second Class Lower division; 310 with Third Class; and 11 Pass degrees. “For 2019/2020, the university graduated a total of 2, 696; 95 in first class; 1,096 in second class...

MATRICULATION: UNIOSUN Matriculates 4,000 Students, Warns Against Misuse Of Social Media

  The Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has warned its new students against de-marketing the institution on social media, warning that necessary sanctions await violators. Speaking at the 15th matriculation ceremony of UNIOSUN held on Wednesday at Osogbo campus, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Odunayo Adebooye, advised the students to project the image of the university positively on social media noting that dismissal is part of the punishment for violators of the institution’s rules. He disclosed that 4,000 candidates were offered admission out of 6,000 candidates that made UNIOSUN their first choice of university. “It is important I let you know that it is in your best interest to project this university positively in social media. CONVOCATION: 112 Bag First Class Degrees At LASU Convocation -VC

  No less than 112 graduates of Lagos State University, Ojo, have been shortlisted for First Class degrees at the institution’s 25th convocation. This was revealed to newsmen on Wednesday by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, during a press conference held at the senate building of the institution on Wednesday.   We’ve Done Everything ASUU Asked For’ — Education Minister Claims As Union Extends Warning Strike The Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has claimed that the government has satisfied all of ASUU’s demands despite the union’s extension to its ongoing strike. The Minister made this known while responding to questions from reporters after the Commonwealth Day celebration in Abuja on Monday. “ASUU announced, we met, and we have agreed on everything, so if they choose to extend it, I don’t know. “Everything they said we should do, we’ve done all of them,” he said. ASUU EXTENDS STRIKE FOR 2 MONTHS

  Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has extended its warning strike for another two months. The decision to extend the strike was taken at the union’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting held in Abuja last night.   Although the union has not made any public statement regarding the outcome of the meeting, a source told Vanguard that members resolved at the meeting held in an undisclosed location that the industrial action be extended for two more months.
