ASUU cannot dictate payment platform - Minister

The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba has again stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is in no position to dictate to the Federal Government on what platform their salaries should be paid.

The Minister said this while addressing journalists shortly after receiving the N100 million presidential nomination form of the APC purchased for him by the Project Nigeria Group.

According to Nwajiuba, it was out of place for salary earners to direct their bosses on what it should do. He called on lecturers to address the issues on payment of their salaries within the ambit of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

The minister said he was worried about the impact of the ASUU strike on the education of Nigerian students.

He also appealed to the striking lecturers to return to the classroom as the Federal Government is working to address some of their concerns.
